The Civilian Marksmanship Program is proud to provide this scholarship program for deserving high school seniors who excel in marksmanship! The Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) offers $1,000, $3,000 and $5,000 one-year scholarship assistance to qualified junior marksmen in order to encourage and reward their outstanding efforts. In 2025, over $325,000 will be awarded.
Again in 2025, the CMP will present not just one, but FOUR $5,000 scholarships that will be renewable for 4 years (Total value of each scholarship awarded: $20,000). The “Carolyn Hines Memorial Scholarship” will be awarded to the top graduating senior who best exemplifies Dr. Hines’ ideals. Three additional scholarships will be awarded to top seniors to commemorate the retirement of longtime CMP Board members Judith Legerski, Jon Bengston and Harry Sieben, who were all devoted to sustaining youth activities. The overall applicants will be determined by members of the CMP Scholarship Committee.
The remaining CMP Scholarships are one-year awards that may be used to fund any accredited secondary education, technical/trade school or vocational program. CMP Scholarships may also be used to pursue a post-secondary education during the upcoming school year.

Hello All,
Attached you will find the application for the Gene Richmond Scholarship Program. Gene Richmond was the match director for the PCGC USPSA discipline for over 20 years and a past president of the Putnam County Gun Club. Gene had a strong work ethic and put himself through college while working. He was also a fantastic mentor at both PCGC and his workplace.
The Gene Richmond Memorial Scholarship was established specifically for the children or grandchildren of PCGC members only and will be awarded to someone currently enrolled in either a college or trade school. The person or persons we are looking for must have ambition to succeed in both school and life and have a strong work ethic. If you believe you are that person, please fill out the attached application and submit it with proof of enrollment by either US mail or email to the addresses listed on the application. While the application provides proof of eligibility for the applicant, the scholarship awards are determined by the scholarship board based on the written essay and the student’s work ethic and involvement with the gun club, shooting sports, or other outside activities. Applications with proof of enrollment must be received no later than September 15, 2024.
Thank you,
Michael Thompson and Matt Bowen
